In today's film world we see more and more of over the top special effects.  Whether they be in superhero, action, horror, or other film genres, special effects have definitely taken over a large part of films.
Do you believe that films rely too heavily on special effects now?
Is it possible that the large amount of special effects are used to hide a lack of story and plot?

The idea of 4D and the D-Box (having an actual experience with the movie such as moving seats) is growing to be a large fade and the next big thing in cinema.
Do you believe with the new addition of 4D and the D-Box that special effects will begin to minimize in films because filmmakers will begin to focus on physical experience over what the audience sees on screen?

In award shows, particularly looking at the Academy Awards (the Oscars), there are awards for makeup as well as special effects.  However, there are so many more aspects to special effects than is able to be presented in one simple award.
Why do you believe that special effect coordinators and others who work on effects don't get as much recognition as others such as actors or directors?
I believe that makeup is extremely important in special effects, however to create an amazing overall film you need to be able to incorporate several different techniques.
What do you believe is the most important special effect that is added into a film?
Do you think a film could survive without any special effects in today's film world?
Special effects have had a huge impact of films and the film industry.  In my personal opinion, I believe that without special effects the film industry would not be as successful as it is and people would not be as interested in watching film as they are.
What is your opinion?
Do you think movies need special effects?
Or is it just something that adds to a film?
